biggest problem I see is the unwillingness to answer honest questions with helpful information. Everyone's quick to poke fun at something instead. Like I've been saying for at least 2 years, we need more new posters around here. With all the inside jokes and sarcasm around here, who's going to feel like this is a welcoming place where anyone new is free to post their opinions & questions? You wonder why this forum is what it is...

Jeez saw these poll results coming.

We should rename the Long Island board:

"Long Island: one of the wealthiest, safest, prosperous places on the planet where all locals do is complain because they've decided it's horrible and we need to move to Bucksnort, Tennessee or Bear's Foot, North Carolina because we can't get in a time machine and go back to 1974."

Actually the board should just have a mandatory IQ minimum to post. So should Congress.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner !

I voted "the same" only because the same issues seem to come up on this board year after year. The only difference I see is that some posters who I thought were downright evil bullies have thankfully disappeared, and the ones that have remained have formed into a disturbing mocking-type clique of self righteous characters who are quick to either dismiss new posters or bash anyone who has the audacity to express a favorable opinion about Long Island.

Also, the general trend in all message boards is that people are quick to post when they have complaints or need to vent. The "regulars" here are helpful, (for the most part) but when those new posters get the information they need, they usually disappear and never come back to update everyone else on the outcome (ie they moved to a new town, and now there is no update on how they like or hate it).

You know I'm kind of fairly new to these forums. I like it. I like the banter back and forth and the resulting inanity and insights and humor. I feel bad that I'm the last guy comin' in the room while all you apparently had the fun during the past 2 years when the boards were great. While I'm gonna hang around and I'll say this. I've been here quite a while, had a good life raising my family but from the looks of things considering I need to adjust my economic life so I have to leave. I figure if and when I wind up in another state I'll write back here. I hope you read my posts and take in my perspective and not be 'snarky'. Believe me I will try not to be a dope and say nyah nyah nyah! Who the hell knows? I may say the LIRR is the greatest thing ever built by man! Hey I like it here but I gotta leave so I could hold a particular quality of life since the income changed a bit. I think I'll miss this place. But at the same time I hope my life 'there' will be as good as it was 'here'. And I'm hoping any Long Islanders wherever they are have 'represented their 'row' well wherever they are!........;-)....
