Opened or NEVER built. Either one would have worked for me.

Not for nothing but nothing will change just by complaining on a message board.
Kind of true... nothing will change just complaining on this forum, other than the birds of a feather thing.

I'm already finding the need to be active at town board meetings, civic association get-togethers and school board meetings. All show a growing trend to fleece the citizens (esp. taxpayers). Even more startling, I really feel if you're not watching, the politicians and unions will steal you blind (they already are).

So writing a letter to our limelight-loving governor will probably get you nowhere, but I might be able to sandwich it in between all of the above meetings, work, commute, and the odd rest and relaxation period. It's hard living on Long Island.

EDIT>>
.2157 here, using total bill divided by KWH used.

thing of it is, I have a bill from 2011 and it's about the same rate.

The only thing I see that has gone up is the daily charge which went from .27 per day to .36 per day. Over a 30 day month that's only an increase of $2.70. That is not affected by KWH used.

EDIT 2>>
I see bills from 2012 that have a .02 cent DROP per KWH for peak hour usage compared to now and 2011. That may be why you say we're hiked up again. We were at these rates in '11, but in '12 we had dropped.

I'm at $118/mo. (550KWH used, non-budget) which isn't terrible for a colonial.

The bills are a mystery, not even the LIPA genius bar staffers can tell you how the energy supply is calculated. LIPA announced two recent increases, which Newsday has said adds up to 8.2%, if I recall correctly. The bills do fluctuate wildly, but I know my bill has never been based on such a high rate as it was for August.
