dont have room to park my two cars in my garage. anyhow my 2 cars are unregistered and are both in mint shape and i just received a summons to move the cars from my driveway.

anyhow im kinda confused on what to do? after searching on here some people say that i can have two unregistered cars but they must be covered and one in the backyard behind the gate

and some others say you can only have 1 unregistered car and must be behind a gate/backyard

fyi: i have a long wide driveway that leads up to my backyard that has a gate and tall bushes.

thanks for anyone that can help me out. or even a link to the laws out here

thanks for the code and just googled it and got this statement which is different from yours

It is unlawful to leave any junked, inoperable or unlicensed vehicle on any street or private property.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sec. 18-417. I.P.M.C. - Section 302.8, Motor vehicles.
Section 302.8, Motor vehicles, is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows:

"302.8 Motor vehicles. Except as provided for in other regulations, no inoperable motor vehicle shall be parked, kept, or stored on any premises, and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of major disassembly, disrepair, or in the process of being stripped or dismantled. Painting of vehicles is prohibited unless conducted inside an approved spray booth.

Exception:

1. A vehicle of any type is permitted to undergo major overhaul, including body work, provided that such work is performed inside a structure or similarly enclosed area designed and approved for such purposes. This exception shall not be construed to allow or justify a violation of rules relating to home occupations or other provisions of the zoning or city code."

Pretty simple. If you don't have plates on it, it better not be in the street or they'll probably tow it away. If it is in a driveway, you might be okay for a while especially if you are in a quiet area away from the main roads but it is still playing russian roulette.

Look up the code/law/ordinance cited on the summons. THAT will be your first point of GOOD info.
