Can't believe it went on as long as it did. Not exclusive to Merrick residents - Anyone in Town of Hempstead can purchase the permit but how did they come up with the $3 number?

I wonder how much of a difference this will make. If anyone in the Town of Hempstead can buy a permit, who is this excluding? Are people from Massapequa and points east clogging up the parking lot at Merrick?
When I purchased my permit to park in Bellmore last week, I was told it was good in Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, and Seaford. Don't quote me on Wantagh, but definitely Seaford.
Claudia Borecky of the N Merrick Civic Ass'n repeatedly requested that they ban parking at the station before 7 AM? Really? Ms. Borecky, Im guessing you dont have a job. What about all those people I see that get on the train in Merrick at 6:30 AM?

When I was taking the train into work - I was getting on a 1:23 AM train. What would Claudia Borecky want me to do with my car at that hour?
Can anyone from Bellmore comment on how effective this policy has been?
I've gotten a ticket for parking in a permit spot without a permit.....so I can say that they do indeed check for permits. Effective in creating spaces for people who pay? Eh. You still have to get there pretty early to get a good spot.

Sorry to hear that!
I honestly don't see how this is anything more than a cash grab for the town. I currently walk to the train to catch it around 7:30 into the city, but I doubt there will be new spaces created for me if I am running late. I don't see the benefit.
