So we are cord cutters, get all of our TV via a ROKU device and internet. We also use a HD antenna for local channels. Our family is extremely pleased with the arrangement and are saving a ton of money even after adding a netflix subscription.
Being in Brookhaven, we only have Optimum/Cablevision for our internet which now runs about 55/month.
Since FIOS is not an option, was wondering if anyone uses a DISH for their internet, or if it is simply too slow for the purposes I wish to use it. Also, what are the costs for intenet alone?

As a cable cutter myself, with currently no digital antenna, could you share your setup please?
I am located in Patchogue, not far from Brookhaven.
If you're a heavy streamer, I think you're stuck with Optimum. For myself, DSL is too slow. My Optimum bill is currently $65 (upgraded to Ultra 50). I have a HD antenna (leaf) which suits my needs. I guess I pick up about 16 channels or so, picture quality is crystal clear for the most part. I use the roku for everything else. BEST INVENTION EVER! I'm concerned with the ever rising cost of internet only now. Optimum really has a captive audience here and they are raising prices to counteract the cord cutting.
this might be a stupid question, but what do you use for a DVR? I realize with Netflix, etc. you don't need one, but what about stuff that you get over the local channels?

Where are you located? I tried a leaf back in 2010 when I lived in a 2nd floor apartment in Babylon. Picked up NOTHING. How do you have it mounted? Is it amplified? Can you share with me your details?
The cost of internet is going to go higher and higher each year. have fun!
