Nassau County had a clean and seed program to help fix damaged lawns and bushes as a result of Bay Park Sewer Plant overflowing in Superstorm Sandy to fix distroyed lawns and bushes. East Rockaway, Oceanside and Parts of Island park got hit.
This morning they just call every single person on list and tell them program is cut off.
Meanwhile they had everybody sign up, fill out forms. send teams to folks houses to do inspections to scope out work which homeowner had to take time off from work and then have another team setting up appointments and collecting documentation. That all costs money.
In the end not a single sandy victim got their lawn fixed and it wasted their time.
Ed Mangano would you like the widows and orphans in East Rockaway who got three feet of raw sewerage on their property from the Bay Park plant to lie on the street today so you can come over and kick them some more?
The sewage didnt kill the lawns. It was the salt water. Happens every year during a lunar tide on the IP canal. Definite waste of money to have a program like this. Thatching and seeding by a private landscaper is around 100$. If they cant afford that they probably cant afford the home either.

does dethatching and aerating work hand in hand or do they serve different purposes?
