I see a Groupon for a G Pass @ jones Beach/Nikon Theatre. Does anyone know how this works.
Are there assigned seats? It looks like this has been used before, can anyone tell me about it?

I actually purchased some today. They are usually great deals and depending on who is performing, sell out very fast. We have gotten tickets through Groupon several times. I purchased the Groupon deal, charged it and received an e-mail confirmation. It takes a few days to be assigned seats. Groupon will let you know when your passes/tickets are ready to be printed up. I have been a Groupon subscriber for a couple of years and receive great offers every day via e-mail...definitely worth signing up.

How good/bad were the seats assigned to you?

A couple of weeks ago we saw Peter Frampton and the Doobie Brothers through a Groupon offer. We were to the right one level up......good seats. Honestly, at Jones Beach I don't care too much where the seats are. Not too many people are close up to the stage at that venue. We end up looking at the large screens but like being there anyway. We just got tickets yesterday for Jackson Browne and James Fogerty......I got three tickets for $60 and change because we had some groupon credit bucks owed to us. Cannot beat that. We have not been assigned seats yet.

We have also gotten seats through Groupon at the Westbury Theatre ........ That is a great venue to see a show. All seats there are pretty much good ones. You will be a assigned a seat through Groupon. Take advantage of an offer when you see it.

My advice..........don't wait too long. The Groupon offers usually sell out fast.

I saw Heart last year with a Groupon ticket, and it was the first section up as well.

Thanks for the advice. I pulled the trigger and bought 4 tickets for John Fogerty. It will be great if it's a nice night weather wise. What about the new alcohol sales policy?

The concert was awesome! The seats were at the very top of the upper deck but it was a beautiful night.
Jackson Browne played from 7:30 till 9:00. Then John Fogerty played from 9:15 until 11:15!

Alcohol sales are in the beer garden before the concert and during the opening act. Unless you buy a ticket to the VIP lounge area, that's the only place you can continue to have alcohol.
Livenation had a 4th of July sale on all Jones Beach tickets and I have been to a bunch already and a few more lined up. Its the perfect place to see a concert and I don't live far at all so its like its in my backyard!

We were there, too, and I agree it was great! So you know for the next Groupon offer, they may not necessarily be upper deck. A couple of weeks ago we went to see Peter Frampton and the Doobie Brothers through a Groupon offer and they were in the lower mezzanine - great seats. Last night when we walked through the gates, staff members were selling Chicago and REO Speedwagon tickets for $20.......mezzanine seats......can't wait.
