Need to replace my old carpet in my basement and going up the stairs. Looking for any good recommendations? Trying not to spend an arm and leg over here. Is going with Home Depot a decent idea bc that is what i'm considering doing.

Yep....perfect for basement work. I used them to install carpet in the basement right before I sold my house. It looked great, and the installers did a great job.

Also had HD install carpeting throughout the basement and it came out great! Overall they were much, much cheaper than tradtional carpet places. The installer was punctual and professional. We actually chose a pretty cheap pad which they ran out of and gave us a much better one for the same price.

I used these guys when I moved in last year, good price and came in lower than homedepot and did great job. Their store is a huge warehouse of carpets and rugs......

Don't use Empire. They are way overpriced and their work is no better than HD's or anyone else's. Everyone that I know that used them has regretted it.

Don't use empire! I called them for an estimate on carpeting years ago, the guy never showed up for the appointment!! Then he called to say he was sorry could he still come over, mind you this was 9 pm. I said No! Never used them.

I love that my empire photo was taken down for advertising reasons - like I have anything to do with Empire. Anyone who lives on long Island has this jingle burned in their brains. I posted sarcastically. Whatever.

Your Floor Store in Centerach. Better materials than HD and will probably beat the price.
