Geographic Diversity works both ways. When I was single I would not date anyone TOO CLOSE or TOO FAR AWAY.

In Manhatan my rule was no one within walking distance. In Long Island at least 15 miles away.

Girls popping in unannounced all the time or calling last minute is annoying. And never a girl where a toll was in the way.

When my fiance and I started dating, I lived in West Hempstead and he lived in Copiague. We'd see each other one day during the week and I would drive from Great Neck to Copiague (going to him was a better situation at the time). On Friday-Sunday, I'd stay over at his place.

I used to talk to guys online from all over (New Jersey, Manhattan, Long Island). If I liked the guy, distance didn't matter.

Dating in general is scary. As long as you tell a friend where you're going to be, you'll be okay. Have you dated online, Sandy?

The whole frigging world is scary. I used to be afraid of it, but I said eff it and took chances, met some weird and some okay guys, eventually finding my fiance.
