Who's moving here voluntarily? Long Island has the second slowest real estate market in the nation, as per Trulio (they admit this statistic may not be a 'true' stat, I hope not!). I know one family in my neighborhood who moved from the midwest to LI last spring. They hate it and want to go back.

BTW, the slowest three real estate markets are all in NYS. Rising NY, eh Andy-boy. Keep those taxes coming, we need to provide for our friends.

^ slower than other areas means nobody wants to move here? You mean higher prices are keeping the masses from just sliding on in? Ya don't say???!!!!

Resurrecting this thread.
My 63 day bill $228 , Power supply charges are $183. Almost half, as usual, despite the fact that oil is cheaper than EVER. Much cheaper than long before they even added this charge (originally called fuel surcharge, which is what it is).
When will it end. Never. NYS allows it. If this was built into the price per KWH, they would have to admit that we pay almost double the amount they pretend we do.

yeah , remember years ago when airline fares doubled overnight because of "the increase in oil prices" ? has anyone seen those $69 fares to Florida and $119 fares to Las Vegas lately ? Not me.
For some reason the price of bagels went from fifty cents to a buck because of "the increase in oil prices" (my local guy said the costs of goods transportation doubled).
We all knew they would never come down.
More good news, I read today that PSEG is raising rates on gas customers something like $13/month.
