Taxes are anywhere from 9k-20k (without STAR). They vary greatly. Because it is a town with a small commercial tax base, residential taxes tend to be high (although the same holds true in towns that have large commercial tax bases like Massapequa....no hiding the fact that LI = high taxes!)
