Uh, in all honesty, your best bet is to contact one of the animal rescue groups, especially one of the cat lover groups. They can probably help you out.
If they give you any crap threaten to catch and bag the cats and throw them over the Bobby Moses bridge.
I cannot stand cat ladies/rescues who feed these colonies. They're not helping. They need to be rounded up, fixed, and adopted out (if possible).
We just worked on trapping, spaying/neutering a colony of ferals and friendlies. Their ears were tipped so that others would know the cats have already been spayed/neutered. It is a huge issue as many college students keep the cats during the school year and then dump them when they leave for the summer.
I'm by no means a cat lady, but do believe to a humane solution to a problem. We were able to find homes for the friendlies and their kittens, and returned the the ferals back to their area. The population has decreased significantly.
My parents bought a house many years ago that was owned by an elderly cat lady and her daughter. The cats dispersed in short time after the food supply stopped. I remember finding cat carcasses and bones for months while the property was being renovated. The grounds had been neglected for years prior and was like a jungle. There must have been dozens and dozens of them there. After a month or two they were all gone.
