If anyone could recommend an electrician that has experience with the installation of an electric ice-melt system, I would appreciate it. I'm in Kings Park.

Unless you have a beefy solar set up you are crazy. I couldn't even imagine what those LIPA bills would be. lol.

Exactly. Be wise and go with hydronic radiant instead and ditch the blacktop idea.

I'm installing an 18" wide x 65' long electric mat so there's a dry path to walk up and down a steep driveway. It will draw 16 amps, less than the central AC.
