Yes, I understand they aren't living there yet. Thus the construction. But you said you've seen them before but they never even looked up to say Hello. So I assumed some opportunities existed for you to talk directly to him.

The contractors he used were rude and very unprofessional. They deserved to be reported. And you really did nothing wrong. So when the neighbor came over, you probably should've just admitted and said "it was nothing personal but we couldn't find you. And our safety is very important." It also gives him an opportunity to make things right now and make sure his workers are respectful.

Why didn't the parents of the injured child call to report them instead of you? You make mention that it's their second home. Could you be a bit nervous that it's a flip, or have animosity/envy that they're renovating or making money from a flip? It seems a lot of neighbors call the town when renovation is being done. It was a bold move considering you never spoke to the neighbor about it first. You could've mailed them a letter.

Amazing. You come here looking for sympathy. Go get a life, and leave people alone. You should have just spoke to the person. If that didn't work, then yes, you call the town. A simple suggestion to clean up probably would have gone a long way. I hope now they are neighbors from hell to you.

If that was in fact true this would have shut down the operation with nobody needing to worry about who turned in who.

An injury report would have been filed and a call to an injury/accident attorney would have corrected the situation in one quick hurry.

Nothing I hate more is people who lack common courtesy and consideration for their fellow neighbors.

This is why people cannot live in close proximity.
Rather why I cannot live near anybody.
I hate everybody. Leave me alone. I enjoy privacy.
Plus, today everyone is a sissy and all the outrage over everything.
Mind your own business, stop be offended by every little thing and sthu.
In the old days, you spoke to your neighbor for better or worse. You might hate each other but you knew where you stood and there was some form of communication. Society went down the toilet.

Wow. Feels good being tough behind a screen, huh? I never understand people looking for a fight while they're hiding behind a device. You're so cool.

Those of you that responded normally, thank you for your insight.

Well hopefully it all works out. We had a rough time when the house next door to us sold in NY and the new owners renovated before they moved in. They turned out ton great neighbors and I hope the same happens for you.

To the OP:
You did nothing wrong.
You don't have to admit to anything.
Just move on and enjoy the fact that a typically useless political entity (TOH) did their job.
Now go out, forget about all this drama, and enjoy this beautiful summer day
