Anyone have experience or know someone with a past experience of adding some exterior touches to their home. Our home is nearly 100 years old and would work will with some touches such as a gable adornment or decorative bargeboard trim, perhaps even some scalloped siding along to the top of the gable. I'm thinking a siding company can do this but have seen little to nothing of them specializing in such adornment. Thought I'd ask here first before sending out a bunch of inquiries. Much appreciated.

Vinyl? Too bad. I only touch that stuff in order to take it off. Vinyl "house jewelry" doesn't need expertise. It gets attached with brackets no more complicated than hanging a clothes pole.

Much appreciated. I can do it myself then. It'll save me a few hundred bucks - maybe a thousand or so depending on what I was thinking about adding. I'll get my 12 year old daughter and 8 year old son to help me while I'm at it. The hell with that - I'll get my wife involved as well. An absolute genius reply - you are the man!

Architectural Depot has some good accent stuff online for reasonable prices.
I've used them in the past.
If you are mechanically inclined, siding is not too difficult if you feel the urge to try and tackle it yourself.
