Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and United States Golf Association vendors will announce over 2,000 temporary jobs are available for the 2018 U.S. Open Golf Championship. The Suffolk County Department of Labor tomorrow is hosting a Job Fair from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to recruit and fill positions in the food service and hospitality industry; event security; parking attendants and shuttle/bus depot attendants; and operations. Suffolk County is actively supporting the recruiting efforts of companies such as Purple Tie by Ridgewells, MTK Resources, Country Club Services, and Andy Frain Services, which will be in attendance at Suffolk County's One-Stop Employment Center located in Hauppauge. In partnership with the Suffolk County Department of Labor, all respective employers will manage the recruitment, hiring and training of event staff.
The U.S. Open Golf Championship will be held from June 11–17 at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY, marking the fifth time that the Golf Championship will be held at the historic golf course.
