We all know about SABER. No dept in NYS is releasing anyone on a DAT for a domestic. Imagine letting a domestic offender go home after a dispute where he was only charged with a Misdemeanor to again confront the victim.

It's not going to happen!

Go back to your criminal justice 101 class.

We don't know anything
You don’t have to. The appropriate authorities do.

so any update on the drug dealing cops who got released on a pathetic DAT or is it just slowly getting swept under the rug further and further?

They had the choice to put them through the system to make an example of them but they DID NOT! typical cover up!

No DAT is issued for any type of charge involving domestic violence. In addition to bail not being used as a form of punishment, other factors are if the defendant is a flight risk, if he/she is a danger to the community, and that the defendant will return to court. These 2 officers have no prior criminal history too.

Don’t listen to 987ABC, he thinks he’s an expert on everything. He’s Been trying to lecture everyone on how wonderful the Hasidic community is a simple neighbors in upstate NY.

So, no selling to little kids.

The rest, like the wash, will all come out...leaving yet another black eye on law enforcement. The deeds of a few overshadow the deeds of the many.
I have to disagree with your last statement. I don’t believe most people hold it against law enforcement as a group when individual officers get caught breaking the laws they are sworn to uphold. I think the backlash comes when all the other good cops seem to circle the wagons even in the face of solid evidence as to the guilt of the offenders. I am all for cops being there to support fellow cops, but when the ‘blue wall’ seems to be in effect no matter how guilty the bad cops may be, people rightfully get pissed.
I had a casual friend who was NYPD, and he said he would never give a cop a DUI summons, no matter how drunk he was. He said he would not be the one to ruin another cops career. I told him that as a CDL driver, I could get fired for a DUI. Would I get the same courtesy from him or other cops who felt as he did? I think you can guess the answer.

We don't know anything
We don't know anything about most arrests. Ever read Newsday? They won't even print a criminals race.

Again, no police department will release a defendant who was arrested for a DOMESTIC CHARGE on a DAT. They must go through the "system". This prevents the offender from returning the same night to cause another domestic incident. They must see the judge!
