Soil removal (East Meadow: rental, live in, move)

I Live in East Meadow and need to level out my backyard. I need to remove some soil, but dumpster rental for soil seems to be very expensive. $800 and up. Is there any way for me to drop off soil somewhere myself. Thanks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If any of your neighbors have a blind spot behind a shed or garage just dump it over the fence.
You could also place an ad on craigslist offering "free fill".

There are actually people who trade dirt! Call some pool companies and ask who they use to exchange dirt/soil.
