If you really don't know why people would be offended by the crass wording, loutish behavior, racially charged diatribe in that post....well, that says a lot about you. While we can't expect better from the President or his acolytes, maybe "Be Best" isn't something we should totally ignore. And I will hold out hope this is NOT the best people can be.
I don't really care (or remember) what he's posted in the past....he answered the question here pretty succinctly. I feel like I've landed in the midst of a bunch of pearl clutching southern belles. Is this the LI forum that people are so easily offended? LOL

Wow. What a disgusting response. You must be miserable.
Thank you. Actually I'm great. Played 18 (shot lousy), had ice cream at the 19th and we're going out to a steak house tonight. Life is good. The $3100 property taxes our 3 BR house with inground pool on 2.2 acres could be lower but eh...that's another forum.
I was informed that you have to fill out a form while on the plane as to where you will be staying in New York. They do check up by phone and text as to whether you are experiencing symptoms. There is a $2,000.00 fine if you do not turn the form in before leaving the airport. An older woman we know did not reply and someone actually showed up to check on her. Yet another person we know, had no contact what so ever. So I supposed it is randomly enforced...? Just about every state is on Cuomo's list now. You can't travel anywhere without having to quarantine some 14 days upon return. Seems excessive. Personally, I'm growing weary of state mandates, executive orders, and the very selective enforcement.
But feel free to go to other states from Cuomoville and infect them. That’s ok. Thousands of NYers traveled south and west in March and April when NY was the biggest hotbed spreading the Chinese flu to grandma and killing her. We saw it firsthand. But what a great idea. Pile the little germsters into the minivan, drive down to Boca, infect and kill grannie and get her house in her will. Free vacation home.
The quarantine laws are constantly being revised, so check with each state's dept. of health for entry, quarantine and reentry rules within 72 hours or so from departure.
My state requires a negative test within 72 hours of crossing the border, or quarantine in place for the duration of the visit or 14 days.
NM was one of the cleanest states in the country, but infection numbers are increasing so the rules are being tightened again. I think a negative covid test that you can present before leaving is your best bet practically everywhere.

I agree.
A couple of days ago, I spoke with an old friend, who had returned, several days prior, from Indiana (to NY), where he had been visiting his son and daughter-in-law. Due to his advanced age, the airline, as a courtesy, had a skycap with a powered wheelchair, shuttling him to and from the gates. On the return trip, the 'cap took him right to the "incoming" registration table.
They took his name, address, and phone number, and explained how he WILL spend 14 days in his home. And YES, they've been calling him daily, at random times, to verify his whereabouts....

Yeah that’s easy when no one has a home phone anymore. He could literally be anywhere, even in another state. Just another stupid waste of money by NYS.

The phone is "traced". They know where the phone is when they text it or call it. Scary stuff.
