Is this the most infamous Long Island crime of all time? I'd say it's either this or Amy Fisher as far as crimes that became well known to the rest of the country?
Sold several times and new address for the house. It really is a very lovely house today. We had a friend who lived in Amityville til his death and he always laughed because it was part of a tour for a while.

I not sure why Amy Fisher/Buttafuoco even famous. Its a run of the mill gilted lover, cheating husband saga.
not "run of the mill" when a high school student has an affair with a married man 20 years older, walks up to to his house, knocks on the front door, and shoots the wife in broad daylight.
It's a regular house on a regular block. My DH's cousin lives down the street. It doesn't even look like it used to, they took those creepy windows out. You'd have to know which one it is to know it was the right house. Several families have lived there over the years.

Yes, not exactly your every day suburbia occurrance.
I worked in insurance in Massapequa at the time. Everyone knew Joey because he used to come into the office all the time to get reimbursement checks for his auto body shop. That's almost 30 years ago!
He was a huge coke head who was high on drugs the night he killed his family. Someone my husband used to work with hung out at that same bar that Ronnie hung out in and said he was always high as a kite.
