Are electric scooters legal in Town of Oyster or other part of Nassau? (Long Beach: neighborhood)

They are legal in NYC but outside NYC dmv give very broad explanation: depend on town or village. Can’t seem to find such info online

I've never had an issue riding mine around the neighborhood or most local parks. Usually it'll be plainly posted if they're not allowed, or just use common sense. They're not allowed on the Long Beach Boardwalk, for example.
