It was because of long island poor snow removal that all happened
I used to live in Brooklyn, then Long Island for most of my life. Anyone remember when we all knew it snows in winter and dealt with it without panic coverage on the "news"?
It's almost worse here in N.C. where I now live. They're going nowhere near prepared for snow so a prediction of sleet is like one of the Horsemen has arrived.
I admit, I don't miss the shoveling!
