Hey everyone! We currently reside in Halesite with family. We like it up here but not set on staying in Huntington. We are currently looking in Northport, East Northport, Greenlawn. Anyone have positives or negatives about these towns for young families? We have 2 kids, almost 1 & almost 3. Will most likely add another 1 or 2 in the next couples years.

Those are all nice areas. I'd go with Greenlawn personally as it's most centrally located to Huntington, Northport and Centerport.

Go to any public HS in America and you're going to see the same things you have always seen - the stoners, the jocks, the lax bros, the princesses, the nerds, the band kids, and so on and so on.

Probably very frightening if you have small children like the OP does.

I am genuinely confused by your response? We are part of a large parish in Huntington and it seems like a perfectly average place to practice our faith?

My husband grew up in queens and I grew up in syosset. We both went to catholic schools so don’t really have much public school experience. We just want to know of some areas that are great for young families. Religion isn’t high on the list.

The person who you asked is a long time intermittent poster who has an obsession with the occult
I would really ignore the response.

I don't live there, but all the people I know who do like their home towns of Northport and East Northport

The moderator can't tell that the Janet poster is clearly a fake and that the person intentionally posts ridiculous stuff and intentionally uses misspellings and odd sentences and expressions for the sake of being funny...while in this case also giving misleading information that could actually influence the original poster who had a serious question?

That's laughably ridiculous!

Or does the moderator agree but troll is a forbidden word here?

If so, my description above is accurate without using the term troll.

All mentioned areas are fine. Just be aware of the anything in Northport schools will be seeing aggressive tax hikes for the next 6 years due to the reduction in taxes from the power plant.

thanks to all who responded with legitimate statements. Janet… God Bless lol. As for the Northport area, I did see in another thread this is due to the LIPA settlement.
