I have a lot of questions regarding Jones Beach and what their policy is now.

I know the venue on the water is a great place to see a show, and I’ve been there. I haven’t been there in a lot of time and I want to know what they enforce in terms of rules, especially in a post-pandemic era.

1. First, is re-entry available? Once you enter can you go back to your car as you wish?

2. Do you have to be vaccinated and wear a face mask?

3. What are you allowed to bring in?

4. How much is parking? If the band you are seeing has a VIP section, sometimes you get to park for free.

5. Prices of snacks?

6. What about leaving the show? If there is only one exit there can only be one exit, right? Is traffic worse than going to a baseball game?

What time does the beach close? I always wanted to hang out on the beach after a show.

Every state has different sales tax for clothes. So if an artist is selling merchandise, does local rules about sales tax effect this?

I think I asked all the right questions, if there is anything I should be aware of, please tell me. Thanks.

Only one I can personally answer, is the beach closes at sunset. With that being said, I'm pretty sure you can still go to hang out, I highly doubt anyone will stop you. Field 6 is closest, and closest walk.

Rules for concerts at Jones Beach theater are pretty clear:

Re-Entry is not permitted at Jones Beach Theater. If you do leave at any point in the evening you will not be allowed back in without a new ticket.

Per NYS rules (as of August 2022), masks and proof of vaccination are no longer required. But performers may decide otherwise. Rules subject to change. Check your tickets and emails.

Items ALLOWED to be brought into venue:
ONLY bags no bigger than 4.5”x 6.5” OR clear plastic bags NO BIGGER than 12"x 12"x 6”.
Cameras – nonprofessional only, no detachable lenses
Food – in a clear, 1-gallon ziplock bag
Water – One (1) factory sealed bottle of water per guest (or empty bottle). Max size per bottle is up to 1 liter.

Parking after 4 pm is free weekdays. Later on weekends. Check NY state website for details. Paid parking available for VIP ticket holders.

Food service cost is OK, typical for concerts. Moderately expensive. Pretty good selection.

Leaving parking lots after show can be a pain, not too bad. Figure will take 20 minutes to get out of parking lot. Smooth sailing from there.

Beach boardwalk (not the beach itself) should be open till midnight. Underpass to beach from concert parking lots. But drugs and alcohol could cause issues. Be careful.

Hope this helps.

I don't think I've ever been to an event anywhere that you could leave the venue and re-enter.

I'm surprised that all these questions aren't answered on the Jones Beach website.

Oh wait look what I found on a simple google search:

Yes you can leave Jones beach and re-enter, if you have an additional ticket.

I almost got a ticket by the park police for being parked at field 6 two minutes after dusk. Got out just in time, you would need to park in Field 4 unissued things changed in the past few years.

I believe it, just not sure how much they patrol after dark, on the actual beach. I used to get to field 6 btw 5:30-6am, many coming off beach who clearly slept there, and no, they didn't have the special use permit to do so.

The police have a reputation of being strict there.
