A woman and her husband were at the Starbucks on sunrise highway in East Islip at 6:45 am 11/17/22. This is 3 blocks from my house and scary. https://longisland.news12.com/police...slip-carjacker

Car jackings were unheard of in the NY area back in the "bad" ole days. But it's happening non stop in the nicer areas of Queens and LI. The Bayside area of Queens has had several. Black and Hispanic males boxing cars in at red lights and taking people's cars.

The police will not protect you, folks. We are on our own. If you aren't carrying pepper/bear spray and profiling black/hispanic males, you're taking a risk. Do the right thing for your safety. Don't worry about politically correctness.

So bring back Jim Crow? I'm confused. Please elaborate on your solution.

No, you can still vote and do everything else law abiding citizens of all races/backgrounds can.

But anyone driving around with illegal tinted windows or paper plates should be pulled over, like the "old" days pre George Floyd resisting arrest and death. Once pulled over, cops can check for weed and other suspicious things that may bring harm to citizens. This led to a lot of arrests and got tons of guns off the streets. Today's crimes are not being committed by the thug standing on the street corner, but rather from the car. Stolen cars mostly.

Furthermore, for law abiding citizens, by profiling you are just avoiding or carefully watching movements of the cohort KNOWN TO COMMIT THESE CRIMES IN HIGH NUMBERS. Nothing illegal about dat!

Maybe this analogy helps your public school educated mind: Imagine someone hired you at a not for profit organization and your job as a fundraiser was to seek out highly educated wealthy people. Would you start in the South Bronx or would you head out to a summer party in the Hamptons?

Street crime and criminals can be avoided the same way. Ya hear!

Or you can just arrest criminals. But go ahead with your apartheid plan. I'm sure it's never been done before.

Finally, a voice with common sense. Profiling needs to happen. It’s not racist to do so.

Unfortunately profiling does have some merit. Its not just based on race though. Plenty of white trash looking losers get pulled over, in places the don't look like they belong. Most times, they don't belong, and will be committing a crime.
