Cargurus gave me a phenomenal number on my trade. They came and got the car. No hassle. Can also check carvana. Make sure you always put “excellent” condition assuming there is no major body damage. These guys they pick up don’t check these things.
Not a dealer! DH took his deceased father's car to two different dealers (this was height of pandemic when everyone was saying they don't have used cars to sell) they laughed him out of the place with his expected amount. Brought it back to NC got $5K more than either dealer offered.
If you have a regular auto mechanic you go to ask them. Sometimes they will sell it for you - they hear of people looking for a car or a second car and know the car's condition so can make a decent deal - presuming its a decent car. And you don't have the hassle.

Dealers are always the worst option for selling (unless you are buying from them at the same time then you have some leverage).
Op: Besides caravana check out Vroom, Kelley Blue Book, Rodo, truecar, car gurus among others. Many will give you an instant offer, some you just need to upload a photo or two. Although the offers have gone down from what they were a year ago you'd be surprised what you can get online.
A dealer will clobber you over the head.
Unfortunately the best way to maximize profit is to sell privately.
Put a sign in the window. Facebook marketplace is ok. CL is good too, but not for the weak hearted.

Something to keep in mind if one is considering buying a vehicle from Carvana/ Cargurus etc.
I sold my car with Carvana and received about 30% over trade in estimates. Easy/ worth it. Biggest red flag for them was confirming the car (home and work locations) wasn't within an area of major storm surge for the time I owned it.
