No avid beach goers or boaters here? I know myself and a few others posted about this years back... it's a shame what will become of the east coast.

Surprised no one is talking about this here, HUGE hot button issue in NJ. As a former LIer, it saddens me to think about what will become of the coast off LI.

My guess is most are unaware, or simply don't care.... much like bail reform. Some of the finer details are nauseating, such as the windmills being owned 100% by the Danish government.

In thirty years, windfarms will be visible from every ocean facing beach on Long Island.
Except of course the beaches between Westhampton to Montauk. (yes , I'm aware of the construction at Wainscott)
Anyone on this forum already knows the reason.

At this rate, none of us will even be here in 30 years.

Or hook up generators to fitness center exercise bikes, treadmills, etc. Then you could have your mileage tracked for health insurance discounts AND an electric credit....

How about smaller, less obtrusive vertical wind turbines for residential homes? If only one out of 100 homes on L.I. installed one it could likely surpass all the power generated by offshore turbines. Apparently, they are readily available, you can actually order one through Home Depot. Below a link to Clean Energy Summit's pick for best models in 2023

This. Western civilization will have collapsed long before we can dot the landscape with more wind farms. Look how that worked out for Germany - they ended up relying on Russian gas, and since Biden blew up the pipeline, their economy is in freefall.

Other than hydroelectric, "green energy" is a joke. Build nuclear or GTFO.

Nuclear all day.

Or why not build more dams, one after another.
