As predicted, overturned on procedural grounds. Feel how you want about inclusion in sports, but from Day 1 the County Executive lacked the authority to make this decree. This case cites lack of legislation, but even if they pass an ordinance to the same effect it will violate NYS Human Rights Law and be unenforceable.

Just three years ago the county execs and governor could do whatever one pleased under a state of emergency ironically to protect people against their will.

This is left-leaning Newsday’s on-line headline yesterday: Court: Bruce Blakeman lacked authority to issue Ban of Transgender Athletes from County Facilities

Since Bruce Blakeman did no such thing it is a false headline. Buried in the story is what Bruce Blakeman actually did: … Bruce Blakeman's executive order barring transgender females from participating in girls' and women's sports played at county parks and facilities.

Two different things.

The former (the false headline) might sound unreasonable. The latter is completely reasonable (except for those who like seeing the trans girls beating up on the smaller and weaker girls).

No wonder Newsday is a punchline.

The misleading headlines pervade all media. No one reports with any journalistic integrity. Thank you for calling this one out.

I don't understand your post. Blakeman banned female transgender athletes, he didn't have the authority.

"Bruce Blakeman's executive order barring transgender females from participating in girls' and women's sports played at county parks and facilities."

Transgender athletes can use county parks and facilities if they play on teams aligned with their biological sex.

We live in a backwards Marxist run state with Hochul towing the line of the World Economic Forums Agenda 30 to a T.

A transgender with male chromosomes is not a female. Never will be.
