i will be starting a new job in L.I. in 6 weeks in woodmere.

what would be good apartment options. i am a single male. i have looked at apartments in long island and queens. it seems i can find apartments a little cheaper in queens like kew gardens. i would like to live in astoria or even flushings, but i am afraid traffic will be a pain.

what about rockville centre or valley stream??

are there any places i need to stay away from in long island or queens??

thanks!!!!!!

Woodmere is part of the 5 towns area. Very clean area, the surrounding areas shut down from Friday night to Saturday night, just FYI. Big orthodox jewish population. I am in Cedarhurst (town right next door) and have no problems with unsafe situations or feeling unsafe.

The upper-income "5 Towns" -- none of which are towns -- includes the Village of Lawrence (incorporated in 1897), the Village of Cedarhurst (incorporated in 1910) and the Hamlet of Hewlett, the Hamlet of Inwood and the Hamlet of Woodmere.
