Look on weather.com their maps are easier to read.

The cone widens and the color changes because the forecast is less certain the farther north you go at this point.

I think that is what it is currently. They say it will pick up speed as it heads north. Lets hope it blows out to sea and keep our east coast safe.

We are suppose to stay in Fire Island, Friday, Saturday and Sunday...looks like we will not be going

At least in our area, as long as you have a mortgage, you are required to have insurance--the lender doesn't want to be without protection!
If the homeowner doesn't provide it, they will, and tack it on to your expenses--rest assured, it's a lot more expensive than if the homeowner himself buys it!
