Was doing a little research on schools in the Garden City area and noticed that the Locust school has a larger minority population compared to the other elementary schools in the area. The Locust school is located on Boylston St. Does that area of GC have a growing minority population? Is that a rougher part of town? What are the home values in that area? Thanks in advance.

That school is 90% white so I'm not sure what you consider a growing minority population. That area is a few blocks from Hempstead but the homes in that area go from anywhere between 700 to a million.

I certainly wouldn't be concerned with the schooling there. I'm sure it's a great education. GC's schools are all ranked very highly.

Azzurrony, does East Garden City share the same school district as GC? I noticed on the map the Locust school is not far from there.

No, East Garden City is essentially the Mall and that area. They are not the same school district.

I believe Grove St. is the Garden City border and there is no way to get over to the Garden City side without going down and around. That section of GC is cut off from East GC for the most part.

If you live on the very Southeast tip though (Meadow St.) there are access streets to Hempstead. The cops though police it very well from what I understand.

No. The Hamlet of East Garden City is in the Uniondale Union Free School District.

The Census Bureau's online address search function indicates in which school district an address is located.

I noticed that there are 3 homes for sales basically next to eachother on Brixton Road by Adelphi? Does anyone know of anything going on there, or think its just coincidence?

Brixton is a lovely road in the Estates section. Lots of Tudors there. I would think that's just a coincidence. Most homes there are 900,000 and up.

Oh my god, 10% minority! Run for the hills! Sell while you still can!

Garden City is a great place, I work there, but people there need to relax a little. 90% white is a lot whiter than your average "white" neighborhoood just about anywhere else on Long Island. Any minorities that can afford to move into Garden City are not going to be of the "ghetto" variety.

Not sure if Garden City has low or moderate income housing but maybe that could be the reason as well. Is that the case? Is that area by that school diverse? I researched Rockville Center and found the same thing but that was only because of a small Public housing area which is for the most part secluded.
