Looking for a good place for breakfast place near middle of the island nassau/suffolk border. Diner food is not doing it and neither is IHOP - not that they're bad, just that we're looking for something new. I wish we had a Denny's cause it's cheap and the menu is good. It doesn't have to be gourmet obviously. BTW, are all diners created equal?
we usually hit up panera if we head out for a sunday morning breakfast... there is also sweet mama's on 25A and laurel road in east northport... more expensive than a panera, but a much more extensive menu, and you'll probably not be hungry again till dinner
lets see if someone had a corinary and comes in and corects the location of sweet mama's with 17 different maps
Maureens Kitchen and Daughters, if you don't mind a zoo like atmosphere. A little further then the Nassau/Suffolk border, but worth the trip if you don't mind the noise, or possible long wait. On second thought, I stopped going there because of the really intolerable (for me) noise levels. The food on the other hand is almost worth it. Located on Terry road in Smithtown, just north of rt 347.

yes.. zoo like atmosphere sums that place up very well
If you are looking for a resonably priced sit-down breakfast, try the Hicksville Sweet Shop on Route 107. It looks like it has not be renovated since 1943, but the food is good and the prices are lower than the diners.
You'd rather have a Denny's than a locally Greek-owned diner? You cannot be serious
