I do love to complain and have a whole repertoire. I guess it's because I am a LI'er. Here are some of my favorites. What do you like to complain about around here? Choose "write in" and post it!
All complaints, no matter how "trivial" it might appear to others, welcome!
I was voting for all my complaints and hit "write in" by mistake ... so now I have to think of another thing on LI to complain about! That shouldn't be hard ... okay ... Potholes!!!!
In all honesty, boredom. It goes hand-in-hand with Meg's comment about the weather from October to late April. When the weather is nice, there are things to do. But during the winter? Not so much, and thank gawd for hockey. I realize it's that way in many suburban areas, however, not just on Long Island.
Oh, and I don't like the way doctors practice medicine up here. They want office visits for every little thing, including things that can be done over the phone. They really play the insurance game up here, boy howdy.
Oh, and I haven't really yet been impressed with the businesses I've worked with here. There's a pedestrian feel to them. (She said snootily.) Could just be the ones I've worked with, but I've run into quite a few people who wouldn't know professionalism if it bit them. And I think workers in the private, for-profit sector here are underpaid. Again, could just be the companies I've dealt with, but they're very cheap with salary and very stingy with benefits. Sorry, I made more money in a lower position at a non-profit a few years ago, and it was located in an equally expensive suburban area. I guess employers on the Island figure the shorter commute they offer as opposed to schlepping into the city from Suffolk makes them sufficiently wonderful to want to work for. Nuh-uh. Employers up here are just tightwads, and have been tightwads since before the economic crisis. Maybe that's because New York is the financial center, so profit comes to the forefront of employers' minds, but it's really quite disgusting how they treat their workers up here. That's one reason why I freelance. No one could pay me enough to put up with the nonsense they want to dish out up here, and I can make more money on my own with less aggravation.

How about polls on CD that don't allow you to fix your mistakes.
