I wonder if you can find out what the average income of an East Williston resident is? Maybe they can afford to pay these outlandish salaries - it's the Great Gatsby Roaring 20's all over again.

Isn't it the school district the reason for the high real estate value in East Williston?

No one is making that suggestion, however it shouldn't surprise anyone that the district which is one of the wealthiest school districts in the entire country has one of the highest teacher compensation in the country. I highly doubt very few people in the district are starving or are even just middle class because of the taxes. If they are well maybe they should have settled for the $1.25 million home instead of the $1.5 million home.

That isn't to say that I don't agree that some of this stuff isn't outrageous. Of course it is. However, I don't have much sympathy for a bunch of people in $ million + homes complaining about taxes.

Actually the majority of homes are not of the million dollar variety. Mineola, East Williston & Albertson Downs are middle class homes. The million dollar homes in Old Westbury are the exception not the rule.

Regardless
, an average teacher in East Williston makes $145,500 with benefits for working about 160 days per year should be illegal no matter how much the homes are worth!
