You can also look for ads noting a dog of his description as "lost" and advertise him as being "found" on the free classifieds in Newsday (printed and online) and on petfinder.com.
Maybe you should extrapolate the description of the dog. AM-STAFF...American Staffordshire Terrier...AKA PIT BULL.
And before anyone gets their underwear in a knot....my friend has one and they are great dogs...but few people know what they are..they are Pit Bulls and need a good dedicated owner. Someone who will not turn them into an unfriendly, nasty dog.
Try contacting Little Shelter in Elwood. Sometimes they do "courtesy postings" and put up pictures of dogs not in their shelter but are in need of a home. You may get people with better intentions there-people looking for a family dog as opposed to someone who is interested in criminal activities.
I posted with craigs list, rescue ink, the local rescue and pet finder agencies, brookhaven concentration camp....

I haven't seen any looking for ads and or lost dog fliers or anything..
He's a good pup, i got him sitting, trying to get his weight back, he is still a little pup hyper, and he is keepin my mastiffs well exercised, or actually they are keeping eachother exercised.
I haven't took him to the vet for the chip thing...that is the only thing i haven't done..
i'll have to get that done..
