Driving from Victoria Gardens(Rancho Cucamonga) to Downtown Los Angeles every day for work.

I am from Texas, I just got my apt In Rancho Cucamonga, i moved there because the victoria garden area seemed nice and affordable. Well I been here a week, my current job is in Riverside But I may be getting a better job with a FIRM in downtown LA. I just signed my apt lease so if i ge this new job , is the drive from Victoria Gardens(Rancho Cucamonga) to Downtown Los Angeles every day for work , is that horrible? How long will it take. Google says Rancho Cucamonga is only 45 miles from LA.....................

45 minutes without traffic. On a nice smooth weekend with LIGHT traffic it takes us that
long from Ontario/Upland and you're still a bit further. My friend did this commute and
would take the metro train. When she did drive she waited until after 7 pm most nights to
miss the traffic. I think a minimum of 1 hour but probably significantly more depending on your hours.

Depends what time you'll be leaving to come home, but plan on at least a 2 hour drive on Fridays! The traffic is brutal going/coming from L.A.....

i would count on 1.5 hours each way, the 210, 10, and 60 are all terrible freeways. i would second the idea of metrolink. go to www.metrolinktrains.com to check your nearest station. from rancho it looks to be about an hour each way. the monthly passes aren't cheap, but many employers don't pay for parking in downtown LA, so you may break even or even come up ahead when considering gas. who knows, your potential employer may even subsidize a monthly pass.

I believe there's a metro stop in Rancho, Upland and Montclair.

No question: Metrolink. I have friends out that way who swear by it.

Rancho Cucamonga is the back of beyond. Why would you want to live there if you didn't have to? The drive will get really old, and you'll want to stay in LA to go out, etc. Move closer.
