Travel nurse working at cedars for a few months. Housing options:

1.) Downtown or North Hollywood

2.)Within 2 miles of Cedars

-----it's either option 1 or option 2, no choice between Downtown and North Hollywood.

Any insight to Cedars area, whats the Miracle Mile???

Thanks!!

definitely live as close to the hospital as possible, traffic in the area can be terrible. it's a very nice area, there are no bad areas within a 2 mile radius of cedars. in fact, some of the nicest areas in LA are within 2 miles of the hospital. there's plenty to do in central LA and apartment rents aren't too expensive if you will have to pay rent.

Hi, I second living as close to the hospital as you can. I live in the Miracle Mile area and can answer any questions you have. Feel free to direct message me. The area is mostly buildings from the 1920s with more modern buildings sprinkled in.

What you might want to do to get an idea of what the area looks like is go to the Los Angeles craigslist and put in one of the following streets: Dunsmuir, S.Cochran, Hauser, Willaman, Orange St., Cloverdale. You'd want to be NORTH of Wilshire.

Also, there are a lot more apartments available (not that the area is bad in any way) than are listed on craigslist.

If you do chose the area, make certain you get an apartment that comes with parking, not one with street parking! I can't stress this enough. I don't care what anyone else tells you, it is worth the extra money in rent to get a place with parking.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks so much, appreciate. I did choose to live close to Cedars, however unsure of where I'll be placed yet....sounds like it should be okay. Thanks for your replies. Very helpful.
