Hi all,

I got contacted about a job there possibly. But it's with a staffing agency which I am unsure of, I've never done that before and it seems a little risky. Also the stuff I've been finding about Canoga Park haven't been so great. I wouldn't live there, probably live in Westwood or Santa Monica and commute? Anyone have any advice on this or information about Canoga Park? I've never spent much time in the SF valley.

Thanks in advance .

Canoga Park is not that bad, besides there are plenty of places to live near Canoga Park which are more upscale such as West Hills, and Woodland Hills, Calabasas. The biggest gripe I have about Canoga Park is that it is ugly especially the older parts of town like Canoga Avenue north of Vanowen: power lines, bill boards, chain link fences, hodge podge zoning...huge contrast to the southern side towards Warner Center.

Commuting from Westwood or Santa Monica will be painful.

Good to know, thanks Charles. Yeah I kind of thought that would be a painful commute, but the way a lot of people talk you would think SF valley is hell on earth. Is there any part of Canoga Park that you would want to avoid?

I wouldn't write "avoid" but the western side is quieter and a little more spread out - west of Topanga, Shoup. I think west of Shoup is West Hills. South of Victory is Woodland Hills. Something like that.

Use Google Street view to get an idea of what different neighborhoods look like.

Yeah I kind of like the west side, that's where I would be working if I got the job. It looks pretty similar to where I live now, not too bad.

Haha, my mom saw this video and freaked out:

That's a crack up. I guess that's why my parents moved from there about ten years ago. We lived at Saticoy and Fallbrook.

As Charles stated, there are several areas around Canoga Park that are much more desirable to live and are within a few miles for a much easier commute than Westwood/Sant Monica.

Take a drive through Warner Center, parts of West Hills, Calabasas and you'll see a complete contrast to the video you just saw.

Good memory. We used to hang out in that place when we were teenagers, like 1976 or so. It was right across the street from Giacopuzzi Dairy.

I think it is a Taco Hell now.

Oh yeah, I remember that dairy. My brother worked at the Shell at Roscoe and Fallbrook, maybe around 1972 or so.
I grew up near Burbank and Fallbrook
