This thread's purpose is to analyze objectively each type of degree/profession (along with caliber of school from which the degree was earned) and rank them in terms of chick-magnet potential in LA specifically. Everyone knows that regardless of how good-looking, suave a man is, some LA women are snobs and will fawn over other specific types of men who own/have certain possessions/credentials.

Some degrees off the top of my head for ranking purposes: any type of finance degree from Wharton or Harvard (degrees which ease one into high paying fields of finance), PhD/MD/DMD/DDS/JD from an Ivy League/Ivy-equivalent school, PhD/MD/JD/DMD/DDS/DO/DVM/DPM from all other institutions, PharmD, Nurse Practitioner (PhD/MS), Registered Dietitians (RD), Chiropractor (DC), etc. Please feel free to add on to the list as I may have left some out unintentionally.

Please leave celebrities out of this discussion and keep this discussion civil by abstaining from all types of bashing/flaming/trolling/etc.

you would first have to believe that "chicks" are not drawn to men based on their status which you have based on thier degree. That's not going to happen.

generally speaking, people in LA don't care where you went to school and the degree you attained (or if you even went to college for that matter). many of the most successful people in LA are not college grads as they chose the creative route in music, movies, tv, etc.

Guy walks up to a hot chick at a bar. Do you think the chick will ask to inspect the guy's diploma? LOL...Chances are, the chick will size up the guy's bank account by how he presents himself (clothes, bling, car).

I suppose snobs in NYC and LA are different. Either that or the degree of snobs that we are familiar with differs by a great deal.

Not talking about picking up chicks. More so keeping the snob for the long-term.

It's all about money, followed by looks. Degrees are not important

So given that degrees are not just pieces of papers-- rather, they are keys to entering certain professions that may bestow certain skills/knowledge/opportunities upon an individual, and in turn, shape the person into whom he may turn out to be in the next few decades-- admiration, respect and prestige, and potential are all unimportant to snobs?

this isn't the east coast. Women don't care about your degree. Money/fame followed by looks. I know others said that in this thread, but I'll repeat it. And most of the rich and famous people in LA dont' have special educations - some didn't even graduate high school. Harvard means nothing here

They care more about the present than the future. Money and looks are what's important - and connections. The only importance of degrees from certain schools amongst the more snobby is if those schools are clubs of sorts for the kids of the wealthy and powerful and focused on making connections rather than learning. Degrees are otherwise little more than pieces of paper in such circles. L.A. is built on connections.
