I live near the one in Bellflower and it was pretty trashy when I had to go there to renew my license back in 2004.

I've heard the one in Long Beach is fairly new and MUCH nicer than the one in Bellflower, so I think I'll go to Long Beach next time I need to visit the DMV.

Which DMV do you think is the friendliest and is less crowded?
I have never been to a DMV anywhere that was really friendly and not crowded.

There are no friendly DMVs. You get that out of your head or else you will continue to have unfriendly problems. The only thing that's important is you know your rights and demand them.

I went there in early 1997 to get my license renewed (actually, they were issuing the new plastic ones with the magnetic strip on back, so I had to get a whole new one instead of just the paper card). Made an appointment, and was in and out with no problems. Alas, I didn't know at the time that I would be moving to South Florida the next year and would surrender my shiny new license (Florida has a similar type, though)

Phew, that's a difficult question. Definitely NOT the San Pedro DMV. The lines there are atrocious too. When I went there last year to renew my license, the line stretch into the parking lot and we had to weave around the cars that were circling the lot, looking for non-existent parking.

I went to the one in San Pedro. It sure was a nightmare.

Torrance DMV is the WORST I’ve ever experienced. The women are awful, full of attitude and do everything possible to make it hard on you. Those people should be shut down.

Question Any friendly staffed DMV’s?

Are there any DMV’s in Los Angeles or orange county that have a staff are friendly people that are willing to help and answer questions?
