Next year i will be moving to Covina California and his new school will be west Covina high he is shy but talks to others at times i am worried he wont make enough friends and his new school will be twice as large as his old one with 3000 people !!! Will it be bad for him or good better academics at the new one i believe

His shyness is something you have no control over, unfortunately. Encourage him to join a sport or a club.

Confusing statement, but as mentioned above, you cannot control shyness. Encourage him to do things with other kids, and thats about all that can be done. Obsessing over it will likely do more harm than good.
