I'm a recent grad in the multimedia design field living in South Florida. I'm 23 and want to pursue a career in graphic design and environmental design. Hopefully could one day work for a creative marketing firm like The Refinery or Disney. Currently living with my parents, two ongoing internships and a loan. A couple questions here:
Would moving to the LA area be a wise choice at my age and current state?
What areas near LA and Burbank would be a good place to rent?

Just wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks

You can do what you want to do pretty much anywhere if jobs are available. You would need more money in LA obviously but if you want to move there is no reason not to. Don't limit yourself to LA,or specific "brand name companies", it rarely works and when it does it's rarely as satisfying as you think it will be. Keep an open mind and decide where you want to live and why then work towards that. Quality of life and competition and all that need to be considered.

I know next to nothing about your chosen field. But given you have a degree and you are young, why not? Nobody can really answer that question but you. But I would say try to have a contingency plan and/or some savings to hold you over. And if you don't have a job in your field lined up before you come, try to network and make contact with as many people as you can before you come.

Nothing wrong with Burbank itself. Areas close by that are also worth considering include: Pasadena, Glendale, North Hollywood (the good parts), Studio City, and Hollywood.
