I know, it may seem weird, but if I ever get a woman who is not native to the area; I want to show her around car the L.A. area in an afternoon/evening. No snide remarks, please.

Where should I take her, if possible? I know I'd have to show her around most of the downtown area.

You can't, it's too big. I believe metro LA's population is about 4 times that of metro Seattle, so you begin to see the problem. You can pick out a section. CCM 123 suggested the Westside/beach areas--a good choice although subject to severe traffic. Another choice would be Downtown and nearby neighborhoods--Echo Park, Silver Lake, and on over to Hollywood.

Why don't you get a 'gal' first and then base your little tour on what interests her, not what interests a bunch of anonymous internet posters?

Yuck. What's so neat about downtown? One wrong turn and you're driving down a street looking a winos urinating in an alley.

There are plenty of threads on this. Search for Dodger, Getty, Venice, etc as those keywords would be in posts which responded to queries such as yours.

Well it really depends on what she is interested in. If she is interested in museums and art, I would suggest the Miracle Mile. If she is interested in the beach, I would suggest the Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. If she likes outdoor shopping, I think the 3rd Street Promenade is quite nice.

All good ideas, people. I'd also show her the Santa Monica Pier, on that note.....

If she likes to go for a little ride, drive around Westside beaches, the western San Fernando Valley, the Santa Susana Mountains, Hollywood, and then head for Downtown. You'll almost being going in a circle.
