I have always suspected people prefer the screen fantasy more to the reality of the city. This phenomenon is called "Californication" Movies and reality shows. Some of my favorite depictions, City Confidential, Heat, Down And out In Beverly Hills, Boys In The Hood. Funny how much power these depictions of LA have all over the world. What do you prefer? fantasy or reality?

I love the way some movies film LA, but I much prefer the reality. I never bought into the hype you see on Californication or those reality shows.

How it really is, that's more accurate.

Hi PDF,

I was refering to the phenomenon of californication not the series Californication. LOL The image Hollywood and people perpetuate to the world of what LA is.

I enjoy L.A. the way Manti Te'o enjoys his alive/dead/back alive girlfriend, as a figment of my imagination....

Those shows focus on select nice neighborhoods, when in fact most of LA looks like Mexico City #2
