If you only make 200-300K, you can get to live in a very small apartment here in LA, with your neighbors' windows right in front of yours. After your income tax, you won't have much "real cash" in your pocket to afford living by the beach or in a decent size apartment. But if you have a trust fund income to assist you, then you are welcome here. If you only make $200K, I assume you aren't a brain surgeon or cardiologist , then you will face very tough competitions in finding a job as a doctor in Los Angeles. There are a lot of doctors here in Los Angeles, holistic ones, the ones from osteopathic schools, the ones from foreign medical schools, the immigrant doctors from India, China, and Nigeria, you name it, who are competing cheaply in every corner with a real medical doctor from real medical schools in USA.... Many people are practicing medicine here in Los Angeles with the blessing of the state, so there are too many doctors competing for jobs here. Unlike elsewhere in the USA, Los Angeles is not lack of doctors, unless you are an in-demand specialist.
