As stated above, Fox Hills/ Ladera Heights/ Baldwin Hills is pretty nice. Lots of upper income black households-reminds me of Oakland personally.

Think about Westchester, alot of black proffesionals, and five minutes to the airport. You can find an apartment in your price range.

Oakland has many predominantly black neighborhoods in the hills that are upper income-in fact, wealthy blacks are far more visible in Oakland than they are in LA....why would that be a bad thing?

Why would you want to live in an area with "a significant black presence"? Just curious. LA is the most diverse city on the planet where you can find people of all walks of life living in all different areas. I also noticed that you havent responded to anyone here but yet you initiated this thread.

I just find your post a bit odd because you dont see anyone wanting to leave in a predominatly Asian area or predominately Middle Eastern Area. People want to live in NICE AREAS. Thats all Im saying.

Other groups don't have to look for each other, their areas are easy to find and often the language of the businesses will change to alert you of the area. One of the first responses said something about getting shot in a black neighborhood. Everyone doesn't want to deal with that type of race based ignorance, so we live amongst people who know we aren't all about crime.

And if people didn't want to live in a predominatly Asian or Middle Eastern Area, then the areas would be predominantly those groups. You really haven't said a thing.

You need to get out and explore more. Instead of just looking at what the news gives you, sometimes check things out for yourself. Do you only go to Oakland to buy your drugs? because if you went there for other reasons you would know that most of the city is beautiful and upscale.

Still, its odd that anyone who wants to move to LA is seeking an area like this. The original post has "troll like" qualities about it. Like someone who strikes a match and throws it into the field then runs away.

Id be just as curious if someone started a thread saying "I want to live in a predominately white area". It just doesnt fit with the type of people we have here in LA. Besides, most "predominately black" areas are not very desirable to live - Watts, Inglewood, Nickerson Gardens, South Central LA, Willowbrook. Even Ladera has its bad areas - people who live in the "Dons" dont go down to "the Jungle" because it is UNSAFE.

That is so stupid. Who actually has the time to come to a message board on city-data.com, make up some stupid post, and then sit back to watch other idiots argue over something as stupid as this? Anyone who has that much time on their hands needs to find a new hobby.

Also it's a free country and people can live where ever and with whoever they want. We all know how diverse LA is but if someone wants to live in an area that is predominantly whatever their race is, what's wrong with that?
