Mine are: Running in the Hills, Tacos, DTLA.

I can think of many more but those have to be my three favorites. What are yours?

Long, long walks. Like from Central Hollywood to the Miracle Mile. Even though the city isn't always super pedestrian-friendly, there is always a ton too see and experience on the streets of this city.

Drive west on sunset to the sea,
Turn that jungle music down just until your out of town,

It's everything they say, the end of a perfect day,
Distant lights from across the bay.

Here come those santa ana winds again....

-"Babylon Sisters" Steely Dan (1980)

Midget town in Bixby Knolls Long Beach. Dodgers games with my dad. Taking the Blue Line from Long Beach to downtown LA after the Lakers win a championship for the parade and celebration. Riding my bike along the Los Angeles River. I am Black so smelling my Mexican next door neighbors cooking good traditional Mexican food with a lot of pork and offering me some. Salvadorean hole in the wall pupuseria joint in West Long Beach. The ducks at El-Dorado park. Tommy burger and In N' Out. Late night runs to Jack n the box for monster tacos. Driving up Palos Verdes and walking in marine layer looking at peacocks and the ocean. Going to drive in back in the day in Carson. Going to burger hut on Santa fe and spring after school. Riding my bike with my friends in high school from West Long beach to tower records near marina pacific to buy cds. LA Galaxy games especially when they play San Jose or Seattle. Playing sideline pop football in the street. West Long Beach all-stars winning the little league world series twice in a row when I was a child.

Riding my bike on Colorado Blvd in Glendale to Pasadena and back with my I-pod, playing early Van Halen. Best at night, when the storefronts and streets are lit up.
