One of the things I found different about LA compared to other cities was that its large major parks were always placed in the hills rather than in the basin area where people lived (but do correct me if I'm wrong). I always thought that we got stiffed in that regards, so I was wondering where people would place a large, at least one square mile, park in the LA basin if they had the chance to place it. What would make sense? Also, is there a particular place, such as an existing park to expand, that would make sense to try to make this happen now?

That seems politically intractable, and more so than most other suggested locations would be. I would've thought closer to South Los Angeles/South LA would be more doable, but let me know your reasons.

that was a joke ...lmao

hollywood is a dump so just dumping a park on top of it would be nice.

We already have one.
It's called Griffith Park.

MacArthur Park! I would have extended it west about 10 blocks and east about 10 blocks making a mall towards downtown LA. Linear Parks are much more useful for getting access to more people and making for great trails. The LA River trail is long but it's not too attractive for most of its run.
