My husband and I are thinking of relocating to the LA area. I would be working in Palmdale. Are there any recommended places to look at. We are both in our early 30s and do not plan on having kids, so kid friendly is not a requirement. Mostly we are looking for suggestions on places that have somewhat of a nightlife (clubs not required, but bars will we nice) and that are relatively safe.
Thanks!

Hello!

Welcome to LA!

If you are looking for a great area to live that is safe and has a nightlife, you will want to live in the Santa Clarita Valley area - Stevenson Ranch, Valencia, Saugus, Newhall, Canyon Country.

Hope this helps!

Santa Clarita is your best bet. Lots of shops and exciting things to do out there. If you are big on roller coasters, Six Flags is there too. Santa Clarita is next to LA County where Palmdale is located. Valencia is an easy going part of Santa Clarita. You should be able to find tons of places to either rent or buy.

There are pubs, hookah lounges, wine bars, Rehab! bar, other stuff. It's not thumping like Santa Monica Blvd, but it does ok! I really can't think of a better place within a drive of Palmdale and no one should be pointed to Palmdale for their first place in California.

Yelp it!

Palmdale/Lancaster has that same stuff. And it saves you a 30 mile drive everyday if you are working in Palmdale.

Personally I'd opt for the shorter commute(but short of work consideration id never live in either place).
