Am looking for a more friendly area for our small family. I was consider living outside of LA (currently living) but still be able to enjoy the city. My husband works in Beverly Hills. I was considering going a little north like Sylmar, Burbank, Santa Clarita etc, any suggestions? What would be a friendly and no high crime?

I am not sure those cities will offer a lot more than what you are getting now. Of course you haven't said where you are living, are you actually in Los Angeles, like West L.A? If you husband doesn't mind the drive, I think Santa Clarita would be more what you are looking for. I don't think Burbank would give you the friendly atmosphere, or not what it sounds like you would like. It is just too close to Los Angeles.

What is your price range on a home? That will help whittle things down. Sylmar is pretty dumpy. Santa Clarita and Burbank are family friendly with low crime. Glendale is another good option. Sherman Oaks and Encino are also desirable locations if you can shell out more.
